Soka University is a private, four-year liberal arts college and graduate school located on 103-acres overlooking a wilderness park in Aliso Viejo, CA. The university is ranked in the top five liberal arts colleges on the West Coast by US News and World Report. Soka University offers an 8:1 student/faculty ratio and study abroad for every undergraduate student. Founded upon the Buddhist principles of peace, human rights and the dignity and sanctity of life, SUA is open to top students of all nationalities and beliefs. About half of Soka University's students come from the US and half from more than 40 other countries. Beginning with the 2027–2028 academic year, the Soka Opportunity Plan will guarantee that every admitted undergraduate student from a family earning $200,000 or less will pay no tuition out of pocket. Families earning up to $250,000 will have half their tuition covered; families earning up to $300,000, a quarter. This applies both to new students and to continuing students who remain enrolled at Soka at that time.

We're excited to announce that Nuclear Politics returns next summer, June 7–11, 2027, hosted by SIGS at Soka University of America.

Over five days, participants will learn from leading scholars and practitioners about nuclear weapons, deterrence, and disarmament, and explore what it requires to build a more peaceful world.

Here's what Junna, one of last year's participants, took away from the program:

"Before joining this program, I felt like I didn't have much power to change the world. But by listening to the lectures, I realized that even as a single human being, I have the power to change the world and help make it peaceful. That's my takeaway from this program."

— Junna, Nuclear Politics 2026 alum

More details coming soon. Stay tuned!

A little networking can go a long way. 🦁

Take a look inside the Soka Jobs+ Fair, where students connected with colleagues from across campus and learned more about opportunities to work, grow, and gain experience at SUA.

Thanks again to everyone who joined us!
