They say it takes a village to raise a child, but when the village needs help, it takes a Neumann alum to rise to the occasion.

More than 40 years after first arriving in Paraguay as a Peace Corps nurse, Eileen (O’Day) Sosa ’82 is still making a difference in the community that became a second home. Through Outreach Paraguay, the nonprofit she founded in 2012, Eileen supports rural schools, a mobile health clinic and a community kitchen serving up to 90 people daily.

Her story is a powerful reminder of how one person’s commitment to service can make a lasting impact.

From the classroom to a career in real estate!

Neumann Class of 2025 graduate Joe Troilo became a licensed real estate agent as he began his senior year. Since then, he has closed a dozen sales and found a career that allows him to build relationships, work directly with clients, and run his own business.

Two real estate courses taught by Dr. Jeff Graber helped Joe discover this career path and take the first steps toward his goals.

Ariana Gilmore just might be the queen of Criminal Justice internships! The senior already has experience with four law enforcement agencies and is pursuing a fifth internship for summer 2027 with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) as she works toward her goal of becoming a federal agent.

“In an internship, you witness how classroom theory is actually applied,” says Gilmore. “If you learn something and then do it, it’s going to stick.”
