Do you know any 6th-12th graders who are ready to set sail into this summer? Check out this opportunity for teens to learn to sail from certified instructors on Lake Belton, July 13-17, 2026.

Participants of all experience levels will learn boat handling, water safety, and teamwork while exploring wind, weather, and water through daily on-shore and on-the-water lessons. Games, team challenges, and mini regattas build confidence, leadership, and a love of life on the water. Basic Sailboat/Able Seaman designation earned through the Lake Belton Yacht Club.

Spring Series Race #2 was a success! Three boats were in attendance captained by Johnny Lance Hornbeck in first place, Mitch Walker in second place, and Laura Ludlow coming in last. Our Club is blessed with having the amazing Coast Guard Auxiliary team led by our very own Race Captain Alan Dykens on the committee boat.

If anybody was in the race and has pictures, please share them in the comments below. The only one I have is from when I was getting towed to the race after my motor died. Thank you, Al and the Coast Guard auxiliary for getting me there.

The kayak adventure group had a wonderful time in the water today! It was beautiful and full of laughter and smiles.
