From Student Leader to Hotel Manager! 🌟🏨

Big congratulations to 5th Year MBA alum James Hannon on his upcoming role as Operations Manager at the Lenox Hotel!

James traveled from Ireland to Endicott for his graduate studies, where he balanced his MBA with a leadership role at our student-led restaurant, La Chanterelle.

When asked about his new path, James shared: “What stood out to me most during the interview process was the culture at the Lenox. The team was incredibly welcoming, and it was impressive to see how seamlessly every department works together to deliver an exceptional guest experience.”

Such a strong showing at Spark Tank 2026. The energy in the room, the creativity behind each idea, and the confidence on stage made this an incredible event.

We’re especially proud to see members of the Gerrish School of Business community represented among the competitors, including our MBA alumni who continue to step forward and bring their ideas to life.

One of the best parts of this work is getting to see what our MBA students and alumni are building beyond the classroom.

This custom cookie featuring our Endicott Gulls mascot and “5th Year!” in celebration of our 5th Year MBA program was created by Endicott MBA alumna Kara Stingo, founder of Stingo's Sweets, The Smart Cookie.

What started as Kara’s vision to create unique, high-quality baked goods has grown into something even more meaningful. Through The Smart Cookie, she has created a way for families to stay connected by sending a little piece of home to their college students in a thoughtful and delicious way.

It is moments like this that reflect what makes our graduate business community so special. Alumni are taking what they have learned and turning it into something real, purposeful, and impactful.

Our MBA students got an inside look at one of the most influential newsrooms in the country.

Thanks to Adjunct Professor Steve Steinberg, our MBA Branding class visited The Boston Globe for a behind-the-scenes experience—hosted by Deputy Business Editor Tim Logan.

From sitting in on a live editorial meeting to seeing how major stories and special projects come together in real time, students experienced the fast-paced decision-making that shapes daily news.

They also engaged directly with Globe staff on one of today’s biggest challenges: how media organizations are evolving to connect with younger audiences.

Experiences like this are what set our program apart—where faculty connections open doors and students engage directly with industry leaders.
