Maternal Housing and Recovery Support in Southern Indiana
Dear Community Members and Practitioners,
You are invited to join an upcoming conversation about building stronger infrastructure to support new mothers and women in recovery across Southern Indiana.
Over the past year, the Indiana Cooperative Development Center and experienced local community development and women's health practitioners have been developing the Southern Indiana Perinatal Recovery Cooperative, a project that connects safe housing with perinatal care, recovery and behavioral health services, nutrition, childcare resources, transportation, workforce development, and other forms of support.
These events are opportunities to meet the project team, learn about the needs the project seeks to address, hear an update on the past year’s work, and help shape the next phase of the effort in 2027.
We are hosting two separate events designed for different audiences, though both are open to anyone who wishes to attend. Please see below for details and select the gathering that is most relevant to you and aligns with your schedule.

This roundtable is primarily intended for representatives of organizations that currently work in maternal and infant health, recovery, housing, behavioral health, nutrition, transportation, childcare, workforce development, education, philanthropy, or related areas. Participants will share their experience, help identify regional needs and service gaps, and explore how their organizations could contribute to the project’s next phase. Community members are welcome, but we'd suggest they attend the Community Forum on the 17th instead if their schedules will allow.

This forum is primarily for community members, including people with relevant lived experience. Participants will learn about the project, share their perspectives on what mothers and families in the region need, and identify opportunities to contribute to the project’s continued development. Organizational representatives are welcome, but they may prefer to attend the Organizational Roundtable on the 10th if their schedules will allow.
