Can AI and VR transform the way we design and create? Join the IU Center of Excellence for Women & Technology Extended Reality (XR) Team and Eskenazi Interior Design faculty Hoa Vo to explore immersive technology, creativity, and design thinking!

In this presentation, Vo will share an experiment in which design students tackled the same spatial challenge through two workflows: symbolic AI with immersive VR, and paper sketching with building information modeling (BIM).

Explore the relationship between creativity and technology in this presentation on November 6 at 1:30 in Wells Library Scholars’ Commons Room E159.

Student composers took in the current show at the Grunwald Gallery of Art and created musical compositions in response. You can enjoy their original compositions surrounded by the art that inspired it on November 12 at 7 pm at New Art New Music, a collaboration between the Student Composers Association in the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and the Eskenazi School's Grunwald Gallery.

The performance will feature premieres by composers Sam Thompson, Anchi Wang-Hall, Devon Lee, Archer Lohman, and Darren Binkowski.

The works being debuted took inspiration from the exhibition "STORY" by photographer Sajik Kim, on view during the concert. STORY is a creation myth drawn from the lived experience of the artist, who was born and raised in Japan as a third-generation Korean national. Friday, October 30 from 1-4:45, the Eskenazi School hosts a Homecoming Open House at the Mies van der Rohe Building. During tours led by Eskenazi Dean Peg Faimon starting at 2 and 3pm, learn the improbable story of how this 1952 design by the celebrated Bauhaus architect was realized seventy years later. Our 2026-27 Bill Blass Speaker Series season kicks off with this talk by luxury fashion designer David Bamber on Wednesday, November 4 at 5:30 in Kirkwood Hall, Room 116. Join us to hear stories from Bamber’s 50 years in the industry. Widely recognized for his decades-long creative relationship with Tom Ford and his prominent role within major global fashion houses, Bamber’s career spans high-profile positions in luxury womenswear, creative direction, film, theater, and education.

The Bill Blass Speaker Series was established in 2002 with a bequest from fashion designer Bill Blass, a native Hoosier and friend of Indiana University.

The McKinney Visiting Artist Series is pleased to present a talk by Tommy Kha called “Ghost Bites, and Other Vietnamese Phrases” this Friday, October 30 at 5pm in Fine Arts Building 015.

Tommy Kha is a photographer who explores the self-portraiture, fragmentation, and humor that are part of the Asian American experience. A 2025 Guggenheim Fellow, Kha lives and works between New York City and Memphis, Tennessee, his birthplace. He holds an M.F.A. in photography from Yale University, where he currently teaches. Thanks to everyone who came out last night to Open Studios 2026! One night a year, we open our Eskenazi School studios to give you a glimpse of what we do. And even try your hand at making something. The rest of the year, we invite non-majors and community members alike to take one of our courses. Be it metalsmithing or fashion design, hands-on creative learning mught just rock your world!
