ADHUS & FAUHS is a national exemplary model for school and teacher preparation programs, improving education through innovative research and curriculum. Henderson University School (often referred to as ADHUS, A.D. Henderson, or Henderson) is an elementary-middle school (K-8) on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. We are not a part of the Palm Beach County School System, but we are a public laboratory school under the auspices of the State University System. Our kindergarten through 8th grade students come to us through a lottery system from predominantly the Broward and Palm Beach county areas. Our classes are small and our parent involvement is wonderful! The faculty members at Henderson have a variety of experience and many are instructors at the University level as well. Our teachers are all involved in research to help Henderson and other Florida schools grow to their fullest potential. In addition to our outstanding academic program, we offer a variety of extracurricular activities as well as an After School Program. Florida Atlantic University High School (FAU HS) is a dual enrollment high school on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Our school is unique in the way that students spend their 9th grade year in a typical high school classroom setting, taking advanced coursework. This prepares them for Grades 10-12 where all classes are collegiate classes taken at the University for both high school and college credit. Typically, when students graduate from FAU HS, they have also earned three years worth of college credits.

💡Big ideas. Real-world challenges. Future leaders.

Our 9th graders took center stage at the FAU High School Leadership Symposium, presenting solutions to real-world problems through projects focused on environmental sustainability, community impact, technology, health and wellness, entrepreneurship, and arts and culture.

Students developed leadership solutions and brought their ideas to life through posters, project artifacts, and interactive Leadership Booths.

🌎 From identifying challenges to proposing solutions, our students are learning that leadership starts with ideas and grows through action!

🪲🔬 Small specimens, big discoveries!

Our DaVinci Elective students explored insect physiology in the Imaging and Flex Labs, using CT scanning, electron microscopy, and dissecting scopes to examine insect wings, uncover hidden microstructures, and sketch their observations.

⚡ They also investigated nerve signals in earthworms and explored how electrical stimulation can influence a cockroach's movements using the RoboRoach system!

From microscopic details to neural signals, science comes to life through hands-on discovery! 🧠✨

🧡 In the month of November, we’re celebrating the Pillar of Fairness, which is about treating others with kindness, listening to different perspectives, taking turns, and making sure everyone feels included. 🦉

How can families practice fairness at home?
✨ Encourage students to listen before judging.
✨ Help students work through disagreements respectfully.
✨ Remind students that fairness doesn't always mean treating everyone the same; it means giving each person what they need to succeed.

🗓️ This upcoming Monday, November 2, students are encouraged to wear their Character Counts! T-shirts with orange accessories to celebrate Fairness!

Our FAU High School students made their mark at Florida Atlantic University's first-ever AI Promptathon hosted by the Management Information Systems Association, where teams tackled real-world business challenges using AI!

🎃🦉 Last night, our Owl community came together for our annual Fall Festival!

Between the splashes at the dunk tank 💦 and the laughs (and whipped cream!) at pie-in-the-face 🥧😂, there was no shortage of fun! It was a night full of school spirit and memories that make this tradition so special. 🧡

A big thank you to our PTO for coordinating the event, our amazing volunteers who helped make the magic happen, and all the families who came out to celebrate with us. We couldn't do it without you! 🍂💙

🎃💥 Pumpkins flying, trash cans exploding, and physics everywhere!

Our students got a front-row seat to some seriously cool science at the annual Pumpkin Drop & Physics Carnival hosted by Florida Atlantic University's Department of Physics! 🧪🦉

From pumpkins meeting their dramatic end to hands-on experiments, hair painting, and exploding trash cans, this event was full of surprises! 🤯 Who knew physics could be this much fun?!

💧 From the drawing board to the pool!

Our middle school MATE Elective students have been busy designing and building their own remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), and today, they finally got to test them in the pool! With guidance from Ms. Cuasquer, students put their creations to the test and explored buoyancy in action. 🤖

Because when learning goes beyond the classroom, the possibilities are endless.
