Here’s your weekly roundup of alumni news from this past week:

🏆 Pratt alumnus Salman Toor (MFA Fine Arts ’09) and honorary degree recipients Sarah Lewis and Jenny Holzer have been named among TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people shaping the future of art in 2026.

🖼️ Pratt alumna Angelique Anderson (BFA Fashion Design ’74) will showcase her work in the Second Acts Talent Show and Gallery Exhibit at Hudson Guild Gallery in New York City, on view November 13, 2026–January 27, 2027.

🎙️Pratt alumna Hiba Schahbaz (MFA Fine Arts ’12) has been named a 2027 artist in residence at Fountainhead Arts.

🎬 Pratt alumnus Kevin Truong (BFA Photography ’13) will premiere his feature-length documentary Mai American at the DOC NYC film festival.
The screening will take place November 13 at 6:15 PM at Village East by Angelika.

🎥 Pratt alumnus Dylan Pailes-Friedman (BFA Film/Video ’17) has released his experimental short film Someone to Steal Horses With, featured on Vimeo Staff Picks.

Congratulations to Chanice Hughes-Greenberg, our Fall 2026 Alumni-in-Residence for the Writing Department! Each semester, the department welcomes an alum from their BFA or MFA programs to engage with the community through conversations, panels, events, and other gatherings.

A poet, Capricorn, and w**e enthusiast hailing from a valley in the Catskill Mountains by way of Long Island, Chanice’s work has appeared in Studio Magazine, No, Dear Magazine, The Recluse, The Believer, and other publications. A Pratt Institute alumna with a BFA in Writing, she was a recipient of the 2019 Brooklyn Poets Fellowship and a 2020 Best of the Net nominee.

🏃‍♀️Lizbeth Murphy, BFA Art and Design Education ’08, ran the New York City Marathon in support of Self Help Africa, an organization with a mission to empower rural women entrepreneurs across the continent.

🏗️ Kevin Griendling, AIA NCARB, BArch ’13, launched PrepARE, a comprehensive Architect Registration Exam prep series, in partnership with AIA East Bay.

🎬 Mackie Mallison, BFA Film ’23, was chosen for the inaugural 2025 Sundance Institute Filmmakers Fund, which awards grants to emerging artists.
