In Minnesota, we're lucky to have 52 county corn and soybean grower associations that raise awareness of agriculture in their local communities, engage area youth with educational and scholarship opportunities, and much more. Today, we highlight our county organizations in southwestern Minnesota.
Over the summer, these groups were busy holding events and raising awareness of ag in their communities. For example, the Lincoln County Corn and Soybean Growers held their annual Ag Awareness Breakfast during the Lincoln County Fair, serving over 450 community members. Meanwhile, the Nobles County Corn and Soybean Growers had a record turnout at their annual golf outing, with over 200 golfers teeing off.
Another highlight in southwestern Minnesota was the Salute to Ag Night event at the Fairmont Raceway. Sponsored by the Cottonwood, Jackson, Martin, and Watonwan grower associations, local county members received postcards for free admission and a free cheeseburger meal. Throughout the evening at the track, corn and soybean facts were highlighted during announcer reads to call out the importance of agriculture in Minnesota.
