High fertilizer prices are squeezing Minnesota's family farmers, creating an untenable situation in agricultural communities. That's why we joined farmer-leaders from across the country yesterday in Texas at an event with Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson focused on fertilizer.

Our message to Chairman Ferguson was simple: Farmers need transparency and increased competition in the fertilizer marketplace. We need the fertilizer companies to be held accountable.

Thank you to Chairman Ferguson for listening to our message and for announcing an investigation into fertilizer industry pricing practices. We're hopeful this is the first of many steps Congress and the administration take to restore balance in the fertilizer market.

MCGA and our state and national partners are working to address the structural issues that have led to rising fertilizer prices in recent years. Learn more here about our efforts to address market consolidation and create more resilient fertilizer markets:

We're proud to support this Minnesota Department of Agriculture campaign to raise awareness about mental health issues in farm country. You can find links to mental health resources on the link below.

This month, join the us and the Agricultural Coalition for USMCA in sending President Trump a unified message about the importance of USMCA. The more farmers who sign the coalition letter, the stronger our message to President Trump about how important USMCA has been for American agriculture.

Learn more about how the Minnesota corn checkoff is delivering value to the state's corn farmers!

🌽 Building and maintaining corn markets doesn’t happen by accident.

For over 35 years, the Minnesota corn checkoff has been working behind the scenes to drive long-term demand for local growers. A recent third-party analysis by Decision Innovation Solutions shows these efforts are paying off big, yielding an estimated 87:1 return on value for in-state corn demand and a 117:1 return for ethanol usage.

With tight margins and shifting global markets, these collective investments are creating opportunities that would be impossible for individual operations to build alone.

From skyrocketing E15 sales to cutting-edge bioplastics research at the University of Minnesota, see exactly how the checkoff is moving the needle for your farm.

At the 2026 MN Ag Expo, Tim Radatz shared how Discovery Farms Minnesota (Minnesota Agricultural Water Resource Center) is working with farmers across the state to better understand water quality on MN farms.

Current research is looking at practices like controlled drainage and cover crops, and how they impact water movement, nutrient loss, and crop performance under real Midwest growing conditions.

By collecting data directly from working farms, the program helps provide farmers with practical information they can actually use when making management decisions in the field. 🌽
