Tonight, we celebrated 37 new OTD graduates at the Cleveland State University Hooding Ceremony. 💚

A hooding ceremony is more than a tradition — it symbolizes the transition from student to doctoral professional. As each hood was placed, it represented years of hard work, growth, resilience, and the responsibility to serve others with knowledge, compassion, and purpose.

Today we celebrated the Cleveland State University Occupational Therapy Class of 2027 at their Pinning Ceremony.

This milestone marks the transition from the classroom into the next stage of their journey as occupational therapy practitioners. As these students move from didactic coursework into fieldwork and capstone experiences, they begin carrying their knowledge, compassion, clinical reasoning, and advocacy directly into the community.

Over the next year, they will step into hospitals, schools, clinics, community programs, and countless meaningful moments with clients and families. We are proud to watch them grow from students into professionals who will make a lasting impact through occupation-centered care.

Cleveland State University’s Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program is proud to celebrate the achievements of our outstanding faculty!

👏 Congratulations to Dr. Gina Kubec and Dr. Karla Reese on their promotions to Clinical Associate Professor with Tenure. This milestone reflects their sustained excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

🏆 We also celebrate Dr. Kelle DeBoth Foust for receiving the Distinguished Faculty Award for Teaching. This honor recognizes her exceptional dedication to student learning, innovation in education, and impact on future practitioners.

CSU Occupational Therapy students had an amazing time sharing their skills with HOSA -Future Health Professionals today! 🌟

They led hands-on demonstrations featuring:
🪑 Adaptive seating to support posture and participation
🧺 Sensory bins that help kids explore, regulate, and learn through play
🚶 A motion lab designed for little ones to build balance, strength, and confidence
🛠️ Adaptive equipment that empowers people of all ages to do the things they love
