Daytona State College generates nearly $943 million in economic impact in Volusia and Flagler counties annually and supports 13,612 jobs, According to a new analysis of the College’s economic value.
“Daytona State continues to be a powerful engine for economic growth in our region and across the state – and we are positioned to fuel continued growth for generations to come,” said DSC President Dr. Tom LoBasso. “Collaborating with our community and business partners ensures our graduates have the skills needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow.”
The study, conducted by labor-market intelligence firm Lightcast, found that Daytona State accounted for 3.4% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Volusia and Flagler counties in fiscal year 2023-2024. The College’s operations, student spending and graduate earnings collectively strengthen key industries across the region, including retail trade, healthcare, real estate, government and support services.
