Questions about getting involved?

The McMillan Gallery Team (formerly Visual Arts Team) is part of the SAB - Arts & Culture team: an UO student-led group that manages the gallery which is located in the Erb Memorial Union (EMU). OUR PURPOSE
The Visual Arts Team at the University of Oregon is a student-led group that organizes exhibitions and receptions in the Aperture and Adell McMillan galleries, both located in the Erb Memorial

Union (EMU). We believe that art is for everyone and we envision the EMU galleries as spaces where the UO community can experience contemporary artwork by student and faculty artists with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. GALLERY LOCATION + HOURS
Both galleries are open during regular EMU hours. The Aperture Gallery is located on the first floor of the EMU across from the U.S. Bank Kiosk, and the Adell McMillan Gallery is located on the second floor near the ballroom. Visual Arts is a committee of the Student Activities Board (SAB), part of the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) -- an EMU program in the Division of Student Life. Email [email protected]

Join us for the reception tonight for our current exhibit UO Advanced Photography’s “Silver Lining”! 📷

The reception is on Tuesday, May 26 from 5:30-6:30 in our gallery. There will be free food and drinks🍕

The exhibit is live until June 1st , so go check it out!

Silver Linings emerges from a term-long engagement in sustained independent practice and a backdrop of questions raised in Terry Barrett’s Criticizing Photographs: How do photographs produce meaning? What shapes our interpretations? How do context, intention, theory, and evaluation alter what we see? The works in this exhibition are presented as a contested space where personal experience, history, ideology, and visual culture intersect.
