The University of North Carolina at Greensboro Information Technology Services is currently recruiting for an Data Platform Engineer.

This position serves as a Data Engineer within the Data Engineering and Architecture (DEA) team in Institutional Research and Enterprise Data Management (IREDM), a division of Information Technology Services (ITS). The individual will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines; supporting Azure-based data services; and ensuring data quality, usability, accessibility, and performance.

The position will leverage tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage to deliver trusted data assets that support decision-making across all areas of the University, including student success, academic planning, finance, and research. This position is eligible for teleworking; however, some in-person assignments may be necessary at the supervisor’s discretion.

The Department of Geography, Environment, and Sustainability at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in urban economic geography.

We seek a dynamic scholar-teacher to build on existing departmental strengths in urban/economic geography, physical geography/environmental science, geographic information science, and sustainability. We are interested in candidates with high potential to develop an externally funded research program and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research. Areas of preferred focus include economic aspects of energy, smart cities, regional economic development, transportation, and other infrastructural elements of modern urban life.

The candidate will teach courses in urban geography, economic geography, planning, plus one or more courses in environment and sustainability. Strong skills and experience using geographic information systems (GIS) are desirable. The ability to collaborate across disciplines with other departments and engage with communities in their research and teaching will be viewed favorably.

The Department of Psychology at UNC Greensboro invites applications for a tenure-track position in Social Psychology (Assistant Professor).

The doctoral program in Social Psychology consists of four faculty who provide individualized training in research and statistical methods. We have ongoing expertise on topics such as close relationships, social cognition, social perception, motivation, self and identity, and aesthetics/creativity.
We welcome applications from any area of social/personality psychology. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in both of the following topics: health/well-being and social cognition.

More specifically, we seek scholars who study how people think, reason, and make health-related decisions as well as decisions that may more broadly affect their environments and social worlds. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute coursework and research experiences to an interdisciplinary BA in Health, Medicine, and Society (HMS).

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking to fill a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Physical Chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Research interests that tie directly into UNCG priorities of Energy, AI/New Technology, and/or Health/Medicine will be greatly preferred. A PhD in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or a related field is a requirement for the position. Applicants should demonstrate a solid record of accomplishment in publications and should show promise for establishing an independent and externally funded research program. Applicants will be expected to mentor master’s and doctoral research students, and to contribute to the department’s long-standing strength in undergraduate research. Additionally, the successful hire will demonstrate teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A competitive start up package will be provided.
