Located on the 240-acre campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, Hofstra Law is 20 miles outside New York City in suburban Long Island. Celebrating service to Long Island! 💙⚖️

Hofstra Law’s Legal Hand Call-In Center of Nassau and Suffolk Counties was recognized by Haitian-American Family of Long Island, Inc., Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages, Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages and State Senator Siela A. Bynoe for its community service.

With help from volunteers and Hofstra Law students, the Center provides free legal information, assistance and referrals, regardless of income or immigration status.

Big kicks, bigger impact! 🏆

Hofstra Law’s 2026 PJF Kickball Tournament brought 16 teams together and raised more than $10,000, according to preliminary totals, to support students pursuing public justice positions.

Congratulations to champions Mottley Crew—bragging rights granted, no appeals heard! Thank you to the players, donors, volunteers, and PJF organizers who made it possible. 💙💛

Third-year Hofstra Law student Gemma Hoyt, a practicum student in the Defender Clinic, has been hard at work on a criminal trial in Nassau County District Court, alongside Professor Elizabeth Nevins. Our clinical students handle every aspect of trial and get invaluable hands-on experience.

“The opportunity to work on and do this trial has been one of the most rewarding experiences during my time at Hofstra Law. Working with Professor Nevins on every aspect of both the trial and the preparation for the trial, has taught me so much and has given me real-life experience of what it would be like to be a trial attorney. I was able to do voir dire, the opening statement, two cross examinations, and the summation. Being able to do all these aspects of the trial helped me to improve my trial skills that I will take with me for the rest of my future career. This was definitely the highlight of my time in law school.”

Hofstra Law’s first-year students connected with law firm representatives yesterday at our Big Firm Fair in Manhattan, learning about firm culture, opportunities for summer associates and junior attorneys, and pathways to 2028 summer associate programs.

First-year Hofstra Law students Alexis Bell and Payton Trabb, won this year's Dispute Resolution Society intramural competition! Bell also earned the Best Oral Advocate award. With 152 students participating, the competition concluded with four finalists showcasing their dispute resolution skills before a distinguished panel of legal professionals.
