Our Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) students took Activity Analysis to the driving range at Topgolf, breaking down the demands of a golf swing through a therapeutic lens.

They examined motor skills, visual perception, cognitive demands, environmental factors and ways to adapt activities for people of all abilities.

Kistal and David Key donated $25,000 to the HCC Nursing program on Aug. 19 at the HCC Board of Trustees meeting. The donation will go into an endowment in honor of Kistal Key’s mother, Chola “Honey” Furrow, who was a nurse.

The Chola “Honey” Furrow Endowed Nursing Scholarship will fund one scholarship per year. As the principal grows interest over time and with additional donations, the HCC Nursing department will be able to increase the number of student recipients.

HCC is honored to receive this gift from the Key Family! Many thanks to the generosity of the Key Family and to the work of the HCC Foundation.

On August 24, HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences President Dr. Lutricia Harrison and the Coleman leadership team met with leaders from Memorial Hermann - Memorial City to explore potential collaboration opportunities in healthcare.

The conversation focused on strengthening partnerships, expanding opportunities for students, and supporting the future healthcare workforce.
