We wrote to Cornell’s Presidential Task Force on Campus Sexual Assault in response to recent news from campus. The letter from Director Jessica Cattelino shares the invaluable research and recommendations from Survivors+Allies, our student-led survivor advocacy and research initiative.

University students, survivors, and advocates know their campus best. The letter shares findings from Dreaming Together: California Student Survivors Reimagining Campus Responses to Sexual Violence, including the Survivors’ Calculus, a framework for the hidden labor survivors undertake before they ever reach an office door.

This 2019 documentary tells the story of Madonna Thunderhawk, a Lakota leader of the American Indian Movement (AIM). Beginning with her contributions to the 1973 Wounded Knee Occupation and ending with 2016 protests against the Dakota
Access Pipeline at Standing Rock, Thunderhawk's efforts have made enormous change.

Join CSW|Streisand Center and UCLA Asian American Studies Department for our Speaker Series: Historical Perspectives on Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities

Dates: Thursday afternoons, October 29 – November 19, 2026.

This speaker series features Q&A sessions with authors who have recently published books on Asian American and/or Pacific Islander history. We will discuss different ways of relating to and narrating a collective past, with a particular focus on innovative methods. Topics include feminist archiving practices, Cold War afterlives, and how to write histories relationally. The featured speakers are Dr. Kristin Oberiano, Dr. Crystal Mun-hye Baik, Dr. Judy Tzu-Chun Wu, and Dr. Wendy Cheng.
