Leading Voices in Business: Behind the Brand

Thank you to Jimmy Gomez, FT MBA ’19, Senior Lead Brand Manager at SanDisk, for joining our Full-Time MBA students for an engaging conversation!

From product development to product marketing and brand leadership, Jimmy shared insights from his career journey and what it takes to bring products to market and connect with consumer, especially in the gaming industry.

Congratulations to the winning team of the GMA x MBCP Clorox Case Competition, hosted by the Graduate Marketing Association (GMA) and Marshall Business Competition Program (MBCP)!

The team, consisting of four 1st year MBA students, took on a real-world business challenge from The Clorox Company, developing a strategic recommendation and presenting their solution to Clorox marketing leaders.

A great example of how Marshall MBAs put strategy, collaboration, and communication skills into practice through hands-on experiences.

Congratulations to Bryan, Maria, Taylor, and Colin on a well-earned win!

Celebrating 40 years of Marshall’s Student Investment Fund (SIF)!

This year, 19 MBA student fund managers oversaw five student-run investment funds — one fixed income, one global equity, and three U.S. equity portfolios — managing approximately $12.9 million in assets as of March 31, 2026.

Their impact goes beyond the markets:
📈 +$1.12M added to the fund’s net asset value
🎓 $210,000 in scholarships funded

Under the leadership of Professor Suh-Pyng Ku, Director of the Center for Investment Studies and longtime SIF instructor, the program continues to set the standard for hands-on, real-world investing education.

The 40th anniversary celebration featured a fireside chat with Marc Stad, Founder and Managing Partner of Dragoneer Investment Group, moderated by Geoffrey Garrett, Dean of the USC Marshall School of Business.
