This weekend, we joined Frost Science Museum MUVE for another native planting day at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park

Each of these South Florida native species plays an important role in keeping our coastal ecosystems healthy and resilient. And little by little, alongside our community, we’re helping restore these habitats, one plant at a time 💚

This Halloween season, we’re trading tricks for treats AND a cleaner coast! 🦇🌊

Join us for Trash or Treat, a Halloween-themed coastal cleanup featuring pumpkin carving, a costume contest, and more!

Come dressed in your best costume, bring your friends, and help us keep Historic Virginia Key Beach Park clean while having some spooky fun with our community. 👻🧤

150+ people. 236 lbs of trash. One community showing up for a place that matters. 🌊💙

This year, we were proud to support Historic Virginia Key Beach Park for International Coastal Cleanup 2026, both during the community-wide cleanup and the Inter-College Cleanup alongside students from Miami Dade College and Barry University

Together, more than 150 volunteers removed 236 pounds of trash from Historic Virginia Key Beach Park! 🧤🌴

And this work is about more than what we picked up. Historic Virginia Key Beach Park holds an incredibly important place in Miami’s history and continues to be a space for community, culture, and connection to our coast. Taking care of places like this means protecting both our environment and the spaces that bring our communities together.

Coastal resilience starts with people showing up, working together, and caring for the places we call home💙

A classroom with a pretty great view 🐬🌊🔬

We joined Miami Waterkeeper out on Biscayne Bay for a Floating Classroom, where our community got hands-on testing water quality, learning more about the health of our ecosystems and local waterways, and seeing community science in action.

And we didn’t stop at the water! We wrapped up the day with a beach cleanup (collecting 109 POUNDS OF TRASH WOW!!🤯) turning what we learned into action for the places we all share and love 💙

A huge thank you to Miami Waterkeeper and to everyone who joined us, asked questions, and showed up for Biscayne Bay! This is what building a more resilient Miami looks like 😎together
