This year, we're breaking ground on a new CDL Instruction Center, supported in large part by a federal funding. The new facility will offer more space and resources for students training for transportation and logistics careers. We've graduated more than 1,250 drivers since the program launched in 2019. Today, it maintains an over 95% licensure pass rate. We're grateful for the support and partnerships that expand opportunity for our students, improve lives and strengthen our region's workforce.

After completing Stark State College's five-week course, Chase Pitre was hired to transport crude oil across Ohio and West Virginia.

Today, we welcomed U.S. Sen. Jon Husted to Stark State's CDL Training Center in Akron, where he met with instructors and students and toured the facility, including the future site of our new Instruction Center. Sen. Husted was instrumental in securing $875,000 in federal funding for the new facility, which will provide classrooms, faculty offices, a computer lab and a breakroom for students pursuing their commercial driver’s licenses.
