Within the College of Performing Arts (CoPA), our focus is to cultivate a vibrant atmosphere that combines abundant possibilities for scholarship, creativity, free expression and intellectual curiosity with real world experience. Nowhere is this more evident than through programs such as our Screen Acting degree in partnership with Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, the first of its kind in the country; our exciting partnership with Cirque du Soleil for technical theatre; and our new Master of Music program in Keyboard Collaborative Arts. Our faculty represent a group of consummate professionals, connected to numerous industry organizations within the arts. These people, accomplished artists in their own right, are dedicated to helping students reach their dreams and aspirations, whether they are pianists, dancers, stage or screen actors, composers, opera singers or students of any one of the numerous programs the college offers.

Making his Carnegie Hall debut, CoPA senior J.R. Easley won first place in the Elite International Piano Competition earlier this year!

A CoPA double major, J.R. is graduating this weekend with degrees in Piano Performance and Business Administration.

We are so excited to follow J.R.'s exciting career and all that he will continue to accomplish!

The nationally recognized Joffrey Ballet School offers intership positions in both administration and residence life, where Chapman students have received real-world exposure to the operations of a renowned dance training institution. Students in the internship also get to experience living in New York City, one of the most vibrant and diverse hubs for the performing arts in the nation. 🗽

Senior Emily Fick is returning to Joffrey this summer and spoke about how Chapman has trained her to rise to the occasion. “It was very affirming of Chapman’s training as a dancer and human. They really prepare you to be professional in environments, and be a smart, curious dancer." (Emily Fick, BFA Dance Performance, BS Business Finance, ‘26)
