🩺💙 Happy Nurses Week from Chestnut Hill College!
We are deeply grateful to Cathy Lockyer Moulton '92, '22 SGS, her husband Sean Moulton, and her father Bob Lockyer for their extraordinary $200,000 Lockyer Moulton Nursing Gift Match — a transformational gift to our Nursing Program. But this gift is more than a donation — it's a love letter to two remarkable women.
The match honors the memory of Carol Ann Lockyer and Royanna Moulton Commisso — devoted nurses, lifelong friends, and beloved moms. Carol served in psychiatric, emergency, and gerontology nursing. Royanna served on an Army base, as a school nurse, and was on duty at the World Trade Center on September 11th — later awarded the Red Cross Hero Award by President George W. Bush for her extraordinary bravery that day.
These two women first became friends in the summer of 1984, volunteering as nurses at their children's high school band camp — the very same place where Cathy Lockyer and Sean Moulton first met. Their friendship, their courage, and their calling live on in this gift.
Two of the Nursing facility simulation labs Nursing Clinical Arts Center now honor the two nurses as part of Moulton and Lockyer donations as well as helping fund the renovation of the nursing science lab in St. Joseph Hall.
