It's that time of year again—our Signature Botanical Wreaths are back and available for preorder!

Click https://bartrams-garden.myshopify.com/collections/wreaths to see all the beautiful varieties of wreaths, handmade by our amazing Horticulture staff, Floriculture students and volunteers with vines, flowers, grasses, and seed pods that were cultivated and dried right here in the Garden.

We like to think of these wreaths as a way to bring Bartram’s Garden home with you and extend the bloom season just a little bit longer as we head into winter.

Great as locally-sourced holiday gifts or just lovely seasonal decor, Signature Botanical Wreaths will be crafted in limited batches throughout the next month and will be available for pick-up from 11am–3pm at Handmade Holidays on Saturday, December 5. We hope that you'll join us for this day of free, wintry festivities and cheer!

Due to the delicate nature of dried botanicals, wreaths cannot be shipped.

Pictured here is the Pastel wreath—handcrafted from mugwort, blue globe thistle, strawflower, pearly everlasting, yarrow, statice, lamb's ear, globe amaranth, Queen Anne's lace and bluestem grass. Just one of many gorgeous options!

As we (slowly!) move into the colder months, the Horticulture and Farm teams are seeking more volunteers to help with seasonal weathering and maintenance of the nursery and land.

October is here and our gardeners are busy with fall planting, but we are also looking ahead to next season. Later this month we will be starting certain seeds and setting them outside for the winter. Some plants require “cold stratification” or a period of cold temperature for their seeds to germinate.

Fall seeding gives us head start and helps free up space in our greenhouse during the spring seeding rush. If you are interested in trying this excellent, low-effort technique, we have a range of seeds from our collection that either require, benefit from, or don’t mind being seeded in fall. You can direct sow into your garden, or sow into pots and transplant the seedlings into your garden in spring

Shop seeds in the Welcome Center (open Thursday-Monday, 9:30am–4:30pm) and online for direct shipping or in-person pickup! Please note: seeds are not included in the 40% off end-of-season sale.

Morning of Storytelling & Meaning-Making event

Bartram’s Garden means many things to many people: be part of the story-telling and meaning-making in this morning of facilitated activities to examine and honor the history and impact of this landscape from many perspectives–including your own!

These events showcase the Garden’s work with Historian Sharece Blakney, Sarah Pharaon of Dialogic Consulting, and input from a Community Advisory Circle to better reflect and celebrate the many stories of this place. Includes both a guided walking tour and a history-keeping workshop--visit bartramsgarden.org/calendar to register for either or both!
