Taking manufacturing to the classroom 🤖

On October 16, our Head of Automation Solutions, Lenson Wong, visited Ygnacio Valley High School for Manufacturing Month to discuss careers in manufacturing and engineering, as well as internship opportunities.

The visit also included a closer look at the YVHS FIRST® Robotics team’s robot and a hands-on collaborative session working alongside the students. Their enthusiasm made the exchange rewarding for everyone involved!

🏆 Calling all student engineers! The 2026 Student Design Contest is officially open.

This year’s Wisecarver Innovation Award challenges students to think outside the box and design a packaging system that can perform in even the harshest environments—from dusty warehouses and muddy fields to freezers at -20°F! ❄️

🔧 The challenge: Design an actuated packaging system that incorporates at least one Bishop-Wisecarver motion component, such as DualVee® or UtiliTrak®, into a multi-axis, driven motion solution. Students must also integrate sensors and/or vision technology to ensure accurate, reliable packaging in challenging conditions.

🎁 The prizes:
🏆 $500 for the winning student
🏫 $2,500 donation to the winner’s school

📅 Submission deadline: December 31, 2026

🎓 Who can enter? Students nationwide enrolled in an accredited primary or secondary school.

Giving back to our community has always been an important part of who we are. Since 2011, we’ve welcomed students for hands-on experiences that bring today’s technology-driven manufacturing careers to life.
