Sport occupies a powerful place in our lives: it builds communities, expresses ideals of excellence, and reveals our commitment to values like fairness, inclusion, identity, and achievement. This year we're bringing together scholars from philosophy, kinesiology, and public policy to explore some of the most pressing ethical questions in contemporary sport. Join us as we consider how athletic competition both shapes and is shaped by broader social values and institutions, and how sport matters far beyond the field of play.

This event is free and open to the general public.

The evening begins with a w**e reception, followed by a plated dinner and dessert thoughtfully prepared and served by students in CRC's Culinary Arts Management Program.

Guests will then enjoy a special performance of Into the Woods, presented by the talented students and faculty of CRC's Theatre and Dance Arts Department.

Winner of three Tony Awards, Into the Woods brings together beloved fairy tale characters including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack, and a mysterious Witch as they venture into the woods in pursuit of their deepest wishes. As their stories intertw**e, they discover that getting what you want is only the beginning. Filled with humor, heart, and unforgettable music, this modern classic explores the consequences of our choices and the importance of community, responsibility, and connection.

The acclaimed score by Stephen Sondheim features musical theatre favorites including "On the Steps of the Palace," "Agony," "Giants in the Sky," "It Takes Two," and "No One Is Alone."

More than an evening of fine dining and exceptional entertainment, Dinner and a Show showcases the transformative educational experiences that prepare CRC students for success in the culinary, hospitality, performing arts, and creative industries.

Dinner and a Show is $70 per person and includes w**e generously donated by McConnell Estates Winery, a plated dinner and dessert, a performance of Into the Woods, and parking.

This event is expected to sell out. We encourage you to RSVP early, as seating is limited and reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis!

EnviroVoters with the support of the ECO Club and Sustainability Committee, is hosting a career panel for environmental and climate-based fields of interest. We believe that the next generation can strengthen the environmental and climate movement if equipped to do so. We will bring in professionals in these spaces to share their stories and projects with students and community members that are willing to explore career paths and movements to join. This project is building Sacramento's resilience infrastructure by fostering a network of emerging leaders and introducing them to aligned organizations and successful stories.

Los Rios is transitioning from BankMobile to Nelnet for student disbursements and refunds, including financial aid refunds, scholarships, emergency funds, grants, and stipends.

If you are expecting a financial aid refund, take the following steps as soon as possible to help ensure your funds are delivered on time. Nelnet allows students to establish their refund preference before a refund is ready, so you do not need to wait until your financial aid has been disbursed to get set up in Nelnet.

âś… Confirm your address in eServices. Log in to eServices, click Profile, and make sure your mailing address is correct.

âś… Set up your disbursement/refund preference. Log in to Nelnet via the Los Rios Apps Dashboard (Okta), select your preferred refund method, and provide the required banking or direct deposit for your selected refund method.
