Breast self-awareness means becoming familiar with how your breasts or chest normally look and feel. If you notice a new lump, skin change, ni**le discharge or another unusual change, contact a health care provider.

Self-checks are not a replacement for mammograms or professional medical care. Talk with your provider about your personal risk and the screening plan that is right for you.

Congratulations to Ashley Sanabria on being named the Sadanand Singh Endowed Professor in Speech and Language Sciences! 👏 This prestigious appointment recognizes Ashley’s contributions to research and education, including her work examining language disorders and bilingual literacy development.

This summer, SDSU School of Public Health Doctor of Public Health students took their learning across San Diego County, visiting local agencies and organizations to see how community and population health strategies are put into practice.

Over two weeks, students connected with public health leaders, toured facilities and explored different approaches to health management. They’ll carry those insights into future applied projects and their work as public health leaders.

Did you know SDSU’s School of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences is ranked the #1 speech-language program in California? With 16 research labs and 9 programs and certifications, students have opportunities to learn, research and prepare for careers across speech-language pathology, audiology and communication sciences.

Since 1938, the school has grown into a hub for education, research and clinical training. Through hands-on learning, community partnerships and the SDSU Speech-Language and Audiology Clinics, students gain real-world experience grounded in research and centered on the people they serve. 🗣️

This summer, SDSU’s School of Public Health welcomed 34 local high school students for the first Pathways to Public Health: Empowering the Next Generation workshop.

In partnership with the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency’s Live Well Center for Innovation & Leadership, students explored public health through hands-on activities, lab visits and conversations with professionals in the field. The week highlighted the many ways future leaders can help strengthen community health.
