The Office of Sustainability promotes sustainable initiatives at USD and throughout the local San Diego community. The Office partners with campus departments and organizations to create sustainable-themed programming and outreach, seeks out energy-saving retrofits and oversees their implementation to fruition, and campaigns to raise eco-awareness that will help USD become one of the most sustainable campuses in the country.

Dreamed up and driven by USD students, this year’s EcoShop brought 12.6 tons of move-out donations back into the hands of Toreros, completely FREE.

Minifridges, fans, pots, and pans that would have been waste were instead given a new life with students moving onto campus. It’s just one example of how Caring for Our Common Home can make a difference for people, our planet, and sometimes our pockets, too. 😉🌎♻️

Thank you to every student who donated, volunteered, shopped, and helped make this year’s event our biggest yet!

Your mattress topper deserves more than a 9-month lifespan 🥺

Every year, mattress toppers pile up during move-out, many after just one school year of use. Before buying one new, give a perfectly good topper from last year another life. 💚
