The end of an era, but what a legacy! After 30+ years of driving change at USD, Dr. John Glick is retiring at the end of the 2026–27 academic year, with Fall 2026 marking his final semester in the classroom.

From arriving in 1993 as the university’s sole computer science PhD to serving 16 years across department chair roles, Dr. Glick helped build USD's CS program from its infancy into what it is today. (And yes, the legendary "Dress Like Dr. Glick" tradition proves just how much his students love him!)

His next journey: a 13-stop round-the-world trip in the summer of 2027! Thank you, Dr. Glick, for your decades of dedication, mentorship and kindness. Read the full article here: https://www.sandiego.edu/newscenter/157276

Behind the scenes: Your professors are gearing up for an incredible academic year!

Dean Roberts and faculty spent today at their planning retreat, collaborating on new initiatives, refining coursework and mapping out fresh ways to support our students this year.

When faculty gather, big ideas happen. Exciting updates are on the horizon for the upcoming academic year. We can't wait to see our Torero back on campus!
