As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to look back on the importance of mental wellness and highlight one of our favorite ways we support our Bobcat community. 💚🐾

At UPD, protecting our campus means caring for your well-being, too. Whether you’re dealing with academic stress, life transitions, or just need a moment to decompress, taking care of your mental health is a year-round priority.

That’s where our incredible therapy K9 teams come in! These dedicated duos are specially trained to provide mental health support, bringing comfort and smiles to our campuses every single day. Check out this video created by two of our amazing TXST students (HelenRose Kahler and Isabela Fratus) highlighting the program, it truly shows why these pups are Texas State's Best Friends!

Even though May is ending, our commitment to you never stops. Look out for one another, take care of yourselves, and remember that you are never alone.

Resources are always available whenever you need them:

National Police Week is a time of deep reflection and unity for law enforcement across the country. This week is dedicated to honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, while recognizing the steadfast commitment of those who continue to serve.

At the Texas State University Police Department, our mission to protect the Bobcat community is a responsibility we don't carry alone. Safety is a team effort, and we are proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our brothers and sisters in local, state, and federal agencies. From our partners at San Marcos Emergency Services and Hays County Sheriff's Office to departments nationwide, we celebrate the shared bond of public service.

This week, we honor the fallen, support their families, and reaffirm our promise to keep our campus and community safe.

To our fellow officers: Thank you for your bravery.
To our Bobcat family: Thank you for your trust and support.

Today we’re celebrating our incredible graduating senior, Andrea Andrio!! 🎓✨

For the past 2 years, Andrea has been working for the UPD in the Parking Services office, keeping things running smoothly as an administrative aide (and probably saving a few of us along the way 😉).

A sociology major with a minor in Public Administration, Andrea is just getting started—she’s headed to law school with the goal of becoming an immigration lawyer and making a real difference in people’s lives. ⚖️💼

We’re so proud of you, Andrea, and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you accomplish. The future is lucky to have you! 💫
