The Purple Counseling and Wellness Clinic (PCWC) believes in the transformative power of counseling and in creating spaces where dignity, empathy, and hope flourish. The goal is simple yet profound: to walk alongside individuals on their journeys of healing while equipping tomorrow’s counselors to carry this mission forward.

As a training clinic of Tarleton State University’s Department of Counseling, PCWC also serves as a living classroom where graduate and doctoral counseling students put theory into practice under the supervision of experienced faculty. This dual mission - serving the community while preparing highly skilled professional counselors - ensures that every session not only supports those seeking care but also advances the field of counseling through education and practice.

𝐻𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑑? 📢

Tarleton State’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s program earned maximum accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

“CACREP reaccreditation of our Clinical Mental Health Counseling program reflects our continued commitment to preparing counselors who are ready to make a real difference in the lives of the clients and communities they serve,” said Dean of the College of Education Dr. Lesley Leach. “This is a proud moment for our faculty, our students, and the entire College of Education.”

This reaffirmation earned Tarleton State the maximum 8-year reaffirmation after a comprehensive review of curriculum, clinical training, faculty, assessment processes, and student experiences, including interviews with students and alumni.
