For a lot of us, the library wasn’t just somewhere to get books. It was
somewhere to become someone.

The child who discovered fantasy novels and never came back from it. The teenager who
found a biography of someone who looked like them for the first time. The adult who sat in
the reading room because it was warm and no one asked them to leave.

Libraries have always been for everyone, not just for people who already love reading.

Sometimes they’re where that love starts. Sometimes they’re where something else entirely happens that matters just as much.

This month we’re asking one question: what has a library meant in your life?

A place to learn. A place to escape. A warm space on a cold morning, a quiet corner when
home was loud, a community when you needed one, a routine when everything else felt
uncertain.

Libraries have meant something different to every person who has ever pushed through
those doors.

Share a memory. A sentence. A moment. Whatever a library has given you, we want to
know.
