The teenage years are a period of significant change, in which young people have a huge amount of energy, idealism, and a yearning to understand themselves and the world. However, if this energy is not guided correctly, it will dissipate and may lead to negative outcomes. This course demonstrates how the Montessori approach provides the solution, equipping parents and educators with an understanding of the inner workings of the adolescent mind and the tools to guide them toward a strong sense of self and purpose.

🗓️Starts 10th November 2026
📍Online, Evening Course 3 times a week. 3 Week duration.

Students on this course will receive an AMI Orientation Certificate upong passing and provided they have had at least 90% attendance.

**Our school parents get 20% off all our Orientation courses**

Our Notting Hill school community organised and took part in, 'Fun Run' a project that saw the children (and some of the parents and teachers too!) run 3 laps of a local park to raise funds for their class. It was a resounding success with our Notting Hill community raising £807, completely smashing their targets!

Special thanks to the parents who organised it and to the following local and national businesses who generously sponsored us:
Bridge Park Gymnastics Club who donated a full day October half-term camp place for one of the runners and a complimentary trial class for all of the children
Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy who donated a trial class for 2 of the runners
Printing Planet UK ltd who donated the event banner
Gymboree Play & Music UK who provided the tote bags
Farm Girl who donated water bottles
North East Trophies who contributed towards the medals

How well children understand numbers when they start school predicts how they do in maths years later, right through to secondary school. Yet children's maths tends to fall behind their reading in the early primary years, and many grow up convinced they are "just not a maths person".

So, the way young children first meet numbers really counts. Our Head of Training, Louise Livingston, has co-written a paper with researchers from the Centre for Educational Neuroscience at UCL that looks at exactly this. They compared how Montessori classrooms teach maths to 3- to 6-year-olds with what neuroscience now tells us about how the brain learns. The match was remarkably close.

Discover the Maria Montessori School for 2½ – 16 year olds located in west and north London.
We offer authentic Montessori education which is hands-on, highly tactile, self-paced in that children are not rushed to reach milestones but rather they come to them when they feel ready, in their own time; collaborative and highly experiential. It is academically robust while also teaching children life skills. Many of our parents express that they wish they'd had this education themselves!
