Latest grad film festival news incoming! 🤩

Mother and Ulysses screened at the prestigious Kinoforum - Sao Paulo Film Festival and will be screening at Bueu International Film Festival, at Concorto Film Festival 2024 (Italy) and Holly Shorts Film Fest (US).

Abracadabra will be screened at the Open Air Filmfest Weiterstadt (Germany), Indian Festival of Melbourne (Australia), Bengaluru International Film Festival (India) and at the Fine Film Festival (Serbia).

The Sunrise Film Festival - Lowestoft (UK) will be screening two LFS films:

From Oscar-winning screenwriters to writers making their mark across the international film industry, our Screenwriting alumni are going from LFS to incredible things. ✨🖋️

🥊 Ameir Brown has written for some of the UK’s biggest TV productions, including Steven Knight’s A Thousand Blows, Criminal Record and BBC/Netflix drama Champion.

🏆 Benjamin Cleary won an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for Stutterer, which he wrote and directed. The film also picked up more than 20 awards and screened at over 75 festivals.

🎭 Kefi Chadwick is a multi-award-winning and BIFA-nominated screenwriter whose credits include BBC’s Death in Paradise, Disney+’s Rivals and Cuba Pictures’ The Walsh Sisters.

🍿 Elaine Gracie is a comedy screenwriter whose work spans film and television. She co-wrote James McAvoy’s directorial debut California Schemin’ and is working on a series with him.

🥇 Eva Trobisch’s debut feature, All Good (Alles ist gut), premiered internationally at Locarno, where she won Best First Feature, before going on to receive further international recognition including the Women in Motion Young Talent Award at Cannes.

🩺 Samuel Jefferson went from studying Screenwriting at LFS to becoming the co-creator and Head Writer of Apple TV’s award-winning medical drama, Berlin ER.

As part of our 70th Anniversary celebrations, we're opening our doors on Saturday 12 September and inviting the public to explore one of the world's most renowned film schools. Visitors will have the chance to tour our historic Shelton Street home, discover our film studios, take part in hands-on filmmaking workshops, and enjoy archive screenings showcasing 70 years of LFS history.
