A massive congratulations to all of our talented students who exhibited their final works at the Wi******er School of Art MA Degree Show last week! 🎉

The showcase featured a diverse range of work from our graduating Master’s students, across a wide range of art and design disciplines.

After countless hours of hard work and dedication, the final exhibition is a testament to the creativity, commitment and effort you have all put into your studies.

Surgeons are swapping their scrubs for lycra this weekend when they embark on a six-day, 600km cycle challenge through the French Alps.

Prof Tim Underwood and Jamie Kelly, from the gastrointestinal surgery team at the university and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, along with six teammates, will be riding from Avignon to Annecy in aid of oesophageal cancer research.

Joining them in their support crew is oesophageal cancer survivor, and former patient of Prof Underwood, Nicola Packer (pictured below).

A brilliant summer on the water for our student sailors! ⛵️

Over 15 students took part in the Round the Island Race and Cowes Week, competing across a range of boats alongside sailors from the UK and beyond.

There were some fantastic performances in both events, with our students making their mark on the water.

This year’s Cowes Week marked the event’s 200th anniversary, making it a particularly special year to be part of.

Artwork by our Wi******er School of Art students is taking pride of place in a new exhibition alongside the work of renowned painters, printmakers and sculptors.

‘Sea, Sky and Earth’ showcases pieces by undergraduate Fine Art students, our past and present staff, and artwork by established artists – drawn from our University Art Collection.

The show is on until November in the Hartley Library on Highfield Campus and coincides with us hosting the British Science Festival in September.
