The Junior Finance Executives (JFINEX) of the UM Digos College conducted its very first Financial School Caravan, aiming to promote financial literacy among the youth and equip them with essential knowledge and skills for responsible financial management.

The caravan was held on 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟗:𝟑𝟎 𝐀𝐌 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟐:𝟎𝟎 𝐍𝐍 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐝𝐚, with the theme “𝑭𝑰𝑵𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒏: 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒚.”

This initiative aims to empower students to develop healthy financial habits, make informed financial decisions, and become more responsible in managing their money. Through financial education, the youth can gain practical knowledge that will help them navigate everyday financial challenges and build a stronger foundation for their future.

The event featured two insightful discussions from our guest speakers. 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐰 𝐀. 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐨 discussed “𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒔𝒆𝒕, 𝑩𝒖𝒅𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒄𝒔,” emphasizing the importance of developing a positive financial mindset, creating a budget, and establishing the habit of saving. Meanwhile, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐉𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐌. 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐠 discussed “𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔: 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 ‘𝑼𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒈’ 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑨𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒔,” highlighting responsible borrowing practices and ways to recognize and avoid financial scams.

The activity was attended by fourth-year Financial Management students under the Department of Business Administration, who were given the opportunity to deepen their financial knowledge and engage in meaningful discussions during the Q&A session.

JFINEX extends its sincere gratitude to 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐰 𝐀. 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐉𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐌. 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐠 for sharing their valuable knowledge, expertise, and insights. Your contributions helped make this initiative a meaningful learning experience for the students.

We also express our heartfelt appreciation to 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐝𝐚 for welcoming JFINEX and allowing us to conduct this financial literacy initiative at your institution. To the students, thank you for your active participation, thoughtful questions, and enthusiasm during the Q&A session.

Lastly, we extend our gratitude to the 𝐉𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐗 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 for their dedication, teamwork, and commitment in making this first Financial School Caravan possible. Your efforts reflect our shared commitment to promoting financial literacy and empowering the youth through financial education.

Together, let us inspire the next generation to make wiser financial choices and build a more financially responsible future.
