The UP Tacloban Office of Student Affairs successfully held the 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 on October 7 at the Multi-Purpose Building, bringing together student organization representatives for an insightful orientation on important policies and responsibilities that help foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus community.

📣Call for ONE UPV Applications for AY 2026-2027

Attention, all UP Tacloban third year students!

Applications for the ONE UPV Scholarship for AY 2026–2027 are now open. Qualified students are encouraged to apply.

🎓 Scholarship Benefit
₱5,000 monthly stipend × 5 months = ₱25,000 per semester or
₱50,000 per academic year

Eligibility Criteria:

1) Must be a full-time student in their third year of a four- or five-year degree program;
2) Must be in good academic standing with the University with an average of 2.0 GWA or better per semester, to be certified by the Office of the University Registrar (OUR);
3) Must carry a load not lower than the prescribed number of units per semester, to be certified by the OUR;
4) Must be of good moral character and pass a background check confirming financial need, to be certified by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA);
5) Have an annual household income of ₱300,000 or lower; and
6) Must be available to participate in the promotional activities as required by One UPV (i.e. public relations and testimonials).

The newly elected Student Council officers formally took their oath of office, led by 𝐔𝐏 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐧’𝐬 1𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐓. 𝐘𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐠, marking the beginning of their journey in student leadership and service.

The ceremony was graced by 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫-𝐢𝐧-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞, 𝐕𝐂𝐀𝐀, 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐎𝐥𝐠𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬-𝐔𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚 and 𝐎𝐒𝐀 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧. 𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐀. 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐨, who joined the officers in this meaningful milestone.

The oath-taking was followed by an open discussion on the officers’ concerns, responsibilities, challenges and priorities as student leaders.

The Student Electoral Board (SEB) and the University of the Philippines Tacloban hereby formally announce the official results of the Piniliay 2026 Student Council Elections, as presented below.

Pursuant to the Guidelines for the Student Elections, candidates with the highest number of votes cast will be declared the winner for their position.

The voter turnout, computed as the total votes cast divided by the total number of registered voters) is as follows: (a) Division of Humanities (DH): 136/157 (86.62%); (b) Division of Management (DM): 361/534 (67.6%); (c) Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (DNSM): 284/504 (56.35%); (d) Division of Social Sciences (DSS): 313/451 (69.40%); and (e) Non-Majors: 2/2 (100%).

The winners shall take their oaths as new Student Council Officers on September 3, 2026.
