Rockefeller College Associate Professor Ashley Fox lent her perspective in this Times Union article on vaccine hesitancy.

"The low MMR rates for young children in some communities "is a combination of some people being hesitant or even vaccine refusers,” said Fox, who specializes in global health policy at UAlbany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. But surveys show that makes up at most about 15% of parents, she said.

“The other portion is people who don’t have access to healthcare,” she said, adding, “I think it’s going to continue to be an uphill battle.”

Congratulations to all of our Rockefeller alumni and student award winners!

On Friday, we celebrated the legacies our alums are building within their fields; from criminal justice to tech policy. We also recognized our students for the incredible work they’ve accomplished.

By bringing alumni and current students together for this annual ceremony, we aim to inspire the next generation and show the real impact they can make in the world.

Thank you to all who joined us!

Assistant Professor Melissa Arnold Lyon was quoted in this Atlantic article on New York City’s education budget:

“The teachers’ union is coming in asking for higher salaries,” she said. “The city will say, ‘We don’t have enough money for that salary ask. What else would you take?’” Small class sizes, which make a teacher’s job easier, are one answer.

How New York City’s education budget became an untouchable money pit
