Are you a graduating veteran or military-connected student? Or have you gotten an achievement this semester, like making Honors or Dean's List? If so, we want to celebrate you! CEVSS will be hosting an end-of-year Student Achievement Ceremony where we'll recognize you with a free dinner. This event will be on Tuesday, May 19th from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Rio Grande campus in Building 1000, Room 1303 (the atrium area). You will also be allowed a plus one if you RSVP to the event! You can do so using the QR code or link in this post. We hope to see you there!

What’s going on this month with CEVSS! 🦇

Austin Community College’s Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS) is here to support our military-connected students!

We have 4 planned CEVSS events so far this month for our military-connected students:
1. Career Workshop Alternate Workshop on May 13th at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hays campus. Are you too far from the Highland campus or maybe just an early bird but still interested in this event? We are holding a single workshop at the Hays campus that will be a combination of all 3 topics discussed in the main workshops. Room is TBD, be sure to check back to get that room location as soon as we can provide it. RSVP for this event using the QR code/link here or on our separate post for this event!
2. CEVSS Military-Connected Student Achievement Ceremony Dinner on May 19th at 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Rio Grande campus, building 3000, at The Center for Government and Civic Service. Are you graduating this semester, or have you made achievements this semester? Let's celebrate that! We will hold a special ceremony recognizing your success, where we will award our students for their hard work in achieving academic excellence at Austin Community College. 3. Capital Idea presentation on May 26 at 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Learn about Capital IDEA's Career Expressway program. This program can help you get the right degree and a great career. Attend to find out if you qualify for free college, with no loans and no debt. Plus, as part of the program, they will coach you in your job search. 4. CEVSS Military-Connected information session on May 28th at 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Highland campus at the Veterans Resource Center. Whether you're a first-time student or you need a refresher, learn about education benefits, ACC resources, and other support services for veterans and military-connected students attending Austin Community College. CEVSS is presenting a Military-Connected RESOURCE FAIR on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 10:30 A.M to 1:30 P.M at the Veterans Resource Center (Highland Campus) where you can meet and connect with multiple Veteran and Military-Connected organizations and groups in our community. Learn about different benefits available to you, get any questions answered or just get information that you may not have known before. This event is open to all Veterans and Military-Connected students and staff. Food and refreshments will be provided. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the event beforehand either in person, via our email or even here on social media! If so, we are having another ACC to UT Military-Connected Transfer Workshop on April 23 at 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. We will have a representative from their campus come out to give you advice right from the source to better your chances of making that happen, as well as using your VA benefits there! What’s going on this month with CEVSS! 🦇

Austin Community College’s Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS) is here to support our military-connected students!

We have 6 planned CEVSS events so far this month for our military-connected students:
1/2. Career Search Workshop Sessions begin! There will be 3 segments; 2 in April this month and another in early May. Session 1 is on April 7 at 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m to focus on writing resumes. Session 2 is on April 21 at 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m to focus on personal branding. You can RSVP for all 3 sessions using the link here or on our separate post for this event! These workshops will also be available ONLINE via Zoom as well, but food and refreshments will be at the in-person sessions!
3. CEVSS Military-Connected Resource Fair on April 9 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Veterans Resource Center at the Highland Campus! This event is open to all Veterans and Military Connected Students & Staff. Come out and connect with local organizations that are here to help support you! Have you been needing (or maybe just wanting) some advice or help with career searching? If that’s you, we’re putting on a series of Career Search Workshops starting NEXT WEEK! The main series will be at the Highland Campus at the Veterans Resource Center focusing on resume writing, branding yourself and interviewing tips across 3 sessions starting on April 7, followed by two more on April 21 and May 5, all from 11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. Additionally, there will be two single sessions held at the Round Rock and the Hays campuses. Graduation Application Assistance Sessions on Tuesday, March 10 at 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. ONLINE via Zoom AND Monday, March 23 at 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. IN PERSON at the Veterans Resource Center at the Highland Campus. If you're planning on graduating from ACC at the end of the Spring 2026 semester and need some help with the graduation process, this is for you!
3. CEVSS Veterans Education Information IN-PERSON Session on Wednesday, March 11th from Noon - 1:00 p.m. at the Cypres Creek Campus in Room 1110.
4. Spring Break Kickoff Event on Thursday, March 12 at 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Drop in any time to the Center and get yourself in the Spring Break mood with some activities, giveaways, refreshments and more!
5. Afternoon Study Group on Wednesday, March 25th at 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the San Gabriel Campus. Room is TBD, be sure to check back to get that room location as soon as we can provide it. What’s going on this month with CEVSS! 🦇

We have four planned CEVSS events so far this month for our military-connected students:
1. Evening Study Group on Tuesday, February 10th at 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the HAYS Campus in Room 01302. RSVP to come take advantage of a quiet place to study while also having supplies and refreshments open to you.
2. CEVSS Valentine’s Day Celebration on Friday, February 13th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in person at the Veterans Resource Center at the Highland Campus. Drop in any time to the Center and take a break with some Valentine’s day themed games, activities and refreshments! This event is open to students alone or their partners as well.
3/4. VIRTUAL Evening Veterans Education/CEVSS Information Session on Thursday, February 5th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m via Zoom AND IN-PERSON Session on Wednesday, February 11th from Noon - 1:00 p.m. at the Rio Grande Campus in Room 1114.
