Saturday is UN Day!

81 years ago, countries gathered in San Francisco, California, as the United Nations Charter entered into force and a new global organization was created — committed to advancing peace, prosperity and human rights for all people.

Today, the ideals enshrined in the Charter remain as relevant as ever. They continue to provide a framework for countries to work together towards a better future.

The Charter remains humanity’s best hope for peace. But it is only as strong as the commitment of Member States to uphold it.
