Congratulations to Marwa Hassan, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Engineering, on being elected to the National Academy of Construction! She is the first person from LSU to receive this honor.

Austin, TX—The National Academy of Construction (NAC) has elected 45 new members to the Class of 2026. Founded in 1999, the NAC is an organization of industry leaders—construction users, constructors, engineers, architects, consultants, attorneys, sureties, editors, and academics—who have made outstanding, life-long contributions to the construction industry. Our purpose is to transform the industry to build a better nation. In addition to honoring the personal contributions of its members, the Academy provides its leadership and expertise to a variety of organizations, governmental and nongovernmental, for the betterment of the industry and nation, fostering collaboration, future improvement, and building the next generation of leaders.

Congratulations to Katherine Shannon on graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology!

As one of our student workers, Katherine has been a valued part of the Construction Management department since her first week at LSU, making a lasting impact on our office and community.
“As a first-generation, out-of-state student, I never expected LSU to make as much of a lasting impact as it did. The Construction Management office has been a part of my undergraduate education since my first week at LSU. Every day gave me a new opportunity to explore campus and further my role in the Baton Rouge community.”

Katherine will continue her education through the CARE accelerated nursing program at LSU Health New Orleans and plans to graduate in May 2028 with a Bachelor of Nursing, her second degree.

Congratulations, Katherine! We are so proud of you and excited to see all you accomplish in this next chapter.
