University of Idaho Extension Digital Economy Program is participating in the Senior Fraud and Financial Exploitation Prevention Roadshow, a statewide initiative to educate communities on identifying, preventing, and reporting financial fraud targeting older adults.

Celebrating our 2024–2025 Connection Corps Digital Navigators, who completed their year of service!
From one-on-one training to community workshops, they helped Idahoans:

Jessie, a passionate coffee shop owner in Cambridge ☕️heard from multiple customers they couldn’t find her shop on Google Maps. Overwhelmed, Jessie reached out to her friend and DEP Digital Navigator, Holli, for help.

💡 In just one tech support session, they walked through the verification process together—and voilà! Her shop is now officially on the map. Literally.

They play a crucial role in bridging the digital divide by providing skills training, outreach, support as they work alongside local leaders and community partners to improve digital access and opportunity in Idaho.

DEP team members Katie & Amber joined the National Digital Education Extension Team for strategic planning on Extension programming to support digital adoption for economic and personal opportunities.

A highlight: visiting Senior Planet, an AARP program helping older adults build digital skills. Thanks to our partnership with LEARN Idaho and their Senior Planet license, the DEP has trained our digital navigators the past two years in the Senior Planet curriculum. They've been able to deliver these resources to empower older Idahoans to use technology confidently and safely.
