The Student Recruitment & Retention Center stands for educational equity.

OUR HISTORY
The Student Recruitment & Retention Center's story begins in 1998 when a group of concerned students attended a UCLA conference which inspired them to develop a student-initiated and run center here at UCD. The students formed committees with representatives from the Associated Students of UCD (ASUCD) and Graduate Student Association (GSA), as well as members of the African American, Chican@/Latin@, Filipin@, Native American, and Southeast Asian communities. Together the committee worked to incorporate their plans for a center into the Facilities and Campus Enhancement Initiative (FACE). The initiative, which passed, provides a portion of student fees to cover the development and function of the SRRC. By February of 2000, the SRRC was on its way to becoming an active and influential part of the university.

Navigating AP or SD and want peer support + guidance?

JOIN US Monday, April 20th from 12PM-2PM @ the Student Recruitment and Retention Center

Please RSVP for as many [or as little] as sessions as you’d like!

RSVP HERE: http://tinyurl.com/APSDBnB

The SRRC is hosting a weekly support group for students navigating academic probation and subject to dismissal. We understand that this process can be confusing and leave students unaware of their next steps.

Our peer led group is intended to provide you a safe space to access information about the process, ensure that you know your options and resources, and provide you with solution oriented goals! AP/SD does not define a student, and is just a part of one’s academic journey.

Each session centers a different topic + theme for us to explore together. We co-create a safe space to diffuse, release, affirm and empower you in your academic journey. During each session we will dialogue, empower your advocacy and connect you to resources related to the theme/topic.

Please note: this space centers students who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, academic probation and/or subject to dismissal. We also encourage students who have experience in re-entry/ re-admission to attend the space and empower our collective stories of resilience + possibility!

Mondays, 12pm-2pm in the SRRC [inside of the Student Community Center]

Meetings are offered as drop in space, weekly from April 20th- May 25th

Each meeting features a different discussion topic + theme

Join us as we demystify AP/SD and empower our collective academic journeys together, one step at a time!

FREE goodies every week!
