From conventions that host thousands to daily meetings with a few dozen participants, students learned exactly how this iconic landmark drives tourism and shape’s OKC’s identity.

A HUGE thank you to for the extensive tour and Q&A today for Dr. Megan Cox’s Entertainment and Tourism Summer Intersession Course.

Students met with the airport’s communications team and learned the importance of keeping the public educated and informed on airport operations, the strategy behind promoting new travel destinations, and how vital communication is in ensuring a great travel experience for the airport’s 4.5 million+ annual passengers.

Our students gained firsthand perspectives into the Zoo’s PR strategy and involvement across the OKC metro, thanks to insights from UCO Alumni Candice Rennels and Georgia Jones.

It’s always inspiring to see our MCOM alum taking the time to connect with current students and making a positive impact in the community.

This week our Strategic Communications students traveled to Dallas, Texas to compete in the American Advertising Federation District 10 National Student Advertising Competition held at Southern Methodist University.

After months of research, strategy, and creative development, they presented a comprehensive campaign for this year’s national client, The NFL.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work and professionalism the team displayed as they competed against universities from across Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
