OH114 Final Projects in Faux ("faux-ever" or Permanent Botanicals)-
Students plan their own custom designs independently: from sketch (theme, color palette, style) budgeting, procuring, designing in the classroom, and calculating profit from wholesale to retail!

OH116 Advanced Floral Design students finish off Spring Semester 2025 with Grapevine Final Projects! The grapevine was harvested from the floral fields and other growing areas for Ornamental Horticulture, and coiled to dry.

The challenge was to build a 3D shape out of grapevine, manipulate it into a circular design (but NOT a wreath!) and embellish with faux, dried and fresh botanicals.

OH116 students challenged with a "surprise package" of all white flowers! Each student received the same flowers (they didn't know what they were going to get in their buckets!). They brought their choice of vessel and foliages... in one hour, here's a sample of what they designed!

Achromatic color schemes do well with high levels of contrast in Texture. As you can see, varieties of foliage provide interest with smooth, coarse, calm, busy, velvety, etc. all represented in the compositions!

Art Blooms starts today thru Friday! at Cuyamaca College, Art Building ("B" bldg), 3rd floor, see floral design students' interpretations of Art and Graphic Design artworks displayed in the Entrance and thru the hallways!
Art Blooms Project is our version of Art Alive! This evening is the Opening Reception- stop by and support this creative collaboration- free to the public, free parking
Note- At the B building, take the elevator to the 3rd floor
