The Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives Data Catalogue, in collaboration with the European Research Infrastructure Consortium, offers extensive, integrated, and sustainable data services to the social sciences, uniting social science data archives across Europe. Resources for Investigative Journalists [and Others]

The Global Investigative Journalism Network serves as an international hub for the world’s investigative reporters. It is comprised of 263 nonprofit journalism organizations in 97 countries. Its mission is to support investigative journalism around the world , with special attention to those from repressive regimes and marginalized communities. The free online Resource Center contains over a thousand tip sheets, videos, and reporting guides that can be used by students and researchers as resources for studying a variety of global issue topics.

GIJN is an international association of nonprofit organizations that support, promote, and produce investigative journalism. GIJN hosts conferences and provides training, resources, and consulting.

Tracking Sanctions on Russian, Iranian, and Venezuelan Oil

The Atlantic Council Energy Sanctions Dashboard provides data and analysis on on Russian, Iranian, and Venezuelan oil that assesses how sanctions have impacted global crude oil flows, explores the unintended consequences for the global crude oil industry, and analyzes lessons learned about the deployment of energy sanctions for achieving foreign policy objectives. The first edition of the dashboard focuses on U.S. sanctions and restrictive measures placed on crude oil. Subsequent editions will incorporate additional energy commodities such as national gas and petrochemicals as well as restrictive economic measures taken by Western allies.

This dashboard focuses on US sanctions and restrictive measures placed on crude oil from Russia, Iran, and Venezuela—including the unintended consequences and the lessons learned.

Evidence-based Global Health Trends

The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation is a population health research organization based at the University of Washington that provides overviews of health topics, country level summaries, published studies, policy reports, public data, and more. Information is easily browsable and searchable through the “Research library” link. The Institute’s Global Burden of Disease initiative provides a wealth of data and publications that can be used to inform improvements to health systems and eliminate global disparities, featuring a suite of broader public data sources and user-friendly interactive data comparison and visualization tools, organized under “Data tools and practices.” The site also links to health policy and planning resources related to health financing, forecasting, and program/policy evaluations that focus on population health policies.

It contains cases, proceedings, statutes, House and Senate formal and informal Rules interpretations, and other types of records, with quick links to its most sought-after document types. The FTC Legal Library has robust search filters—record type, mission, type of action, federal court, industry, case status, enforcement types, as well as the option to search by matter number, civil action number, or by date range. This is the best source for obtaining legal information regarding the antitrust and consumer protection missions of the agency.

Europeana is a web portal created by the European Union containing digitized cultural heritage collections of more than 3,000 institutions across Europe. It includes over 50 million records, brought together on a single platform and presented in a variety of ways relevant to user needs. The items come from institutions located in countries which are members of the Council of Europe and include catalog records of full-text books, magazines, journals, and audio recordings. Aside from a search engine, the site has an explore by theme feature that allows users to search types of publications [e.g., newspapers] or broad topics [e.g., migration]. Creating an individual account allows you to save up to 100 items to your personal “gallery” of collections.

Rescuing Government Data

The Data Rescue Project started in February of 2025 as a coordinated effort of three data organizations, including members of IASSIST, RDAP, and the Data Curation Network, to serve as a clearinghouse for data rescue-related efforts and data access points for public U.S. governmental data that are currently at risk. Efforts include: data gathering, data curation and cleaning, data cataloging, and providing sustained access and distribution of data assets. Users can use the Nominations Tool to nominate digital content you are concerned about. The organization will investigate the submission and decide if it has the capacity to take preserve it or if members will need to partner with another organization. Currently more than 150 volunteers have rescued over 1,100 public datasets from more than eighty government offices.
