For Palm Tree Day, we’re celebrating our palmetum collection which is the largest university palmetum in the country!

FIU is helping protect Florida’s native palms, which includes the Miami palmetto, once thought lost in the wild for more than 40 years, was still growing right here in South Florida confirmed by Ph.D. candidate Daniel Tucker.
