Located on 245 acres in northern Miami-Dade County, this beautifully landscaped campus was the College's first. It was built in 1960 on land that once hosted a World War II Naval air station. The main academic buildings of the Campus surround a serene lake and lush walking paths. MDC's North Campus is home to the Schools of Science, Criminal Justice and Entertainment and Design Technologies and the College's Fire Sciences and Funeral Service Education programs. The North Campus also offers several unique opportunities that include bachelor's degrees in Biological Sciences; Film, Television & Digital Production; and Public Safety Management. Meek Entrepreneurial Education Center, which promotes excellence in education, entrepreneurship, and workforce preparation. In January 2010, MDC celebrated the official opening of the College's state of-the-art science complex at North Campus. The first of its kind in north Miami-Dade County, the 90,000-square-foot complex features 21 laboratories with media stations, a Palmetum, a roof-top observatory, classrooms, lecture hall, faculty and administrative offices, botanical garden, greenhouse, an outdoor plaza and a café.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month continues, we’re reminded to raise awareness and show support for everyone affected by cancer.

National Mammography Day is an opportunity to emphasize the importance of regular mammograms and staying informed about our health. Mammograms can help detect breast cancer early, while continued research helps advance breast cancer treatment.

Behind every screening is a person, a family, and a story. We celebrate survivors, uplift those facing breast cancer, and offer compassion and encouragement to everyone walking alongside them.

Our President’s Leadership Speaker Series welcomed Mr. Scott Hansel, President and CEO of Chapman Partnership, for a meaningful conversation today on leadership, service, and community impact.

Through his work at Chapman Partnership, Mr. Hansel helps lead efforts to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness through housing, education, workforce development, and other essential services. In an engaging conversation on leadership, community impact, and service, our Sharks explored how compassion, collaboration, and a commitment to others can create lasting change.

Cybersecurity is about more than protecting information. It’s about protecting the people, opportunities, and communities behind it.

Today, our CyberSecure MDC Conference 2026 brought us together for a day of learning, connection, and important conversations about staying safe in an increasingly digital world. Through keynote presentations, workshops, and panel discussions, we explored current and emerging cybersecurity topics, including ransomware, phishing, data privacy, AI, and cybersecurity trends.
