We are so grateful to have Dianna Williams here today with us! Here is her bio, please read.
Diana Williams is in her thirty-fourth year as a music educator. Ms. Williams is currently serving as Director of Fine Arts & Activities in the Mid-Del School District serving over 13,000 students in grades K-12. Recently, she was the Director of Bands/Instrumental Music Coordinator for the Yukon School District. Prior to joining the Yukon team, Diana taught in the Mid-Del School District at Carl Albert High School, Mustang High School and North Middle School, and Moore High School. While teaching in Oklahoma, all bands under Ms. Williams have earned the Sweepstakes Award and the Accent with Distinction Award for marching band, concert bands, and jazz bands at the OSSAA State Festival. Most recently she taught in the Lovejoy ISD in Lucas, Texas, earning sweepstakes and superior awards for both concert and jazz band. Prior to the move to Texas, Ms. Williams was Director of Bands/Fine Arts Administrator in the Webb City R-7 School District from 1996–2012. While at Webb City, the program consistently earned straight one ratings and honors in marching band, jazz band, and concert band at local, state, and national festivals.
In addition to her teaching duties, Diana is active as an adjudicator and clinician for marching band, jazz band, and concert band state contests, festivals, honor bands, and camps. Honors and awards include: 2021 OBA Class 6A State Finalist – 6th Place, 2020 Oklahoma Music Educators Conference Honor Band, 2019 OBA State Runner Up in Marching Band - Class 5A, 2021 & 2019 O.S.S.A.A. State Runner Up in Jazz Band – Class 5A, 2015 UT Jazz Festival Champion, 2011 & 2005 Missouri Music Educators Conference Honor Band; 2010 & 2006 Tournament of Roses Parade Band; 2011 Phi Beta Mu (Missouri Chapter) Band Director of the Year; 2002 Webb City Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year.
