Congratulations to Digital Media Design students September and Sidney on qualifying for the Adobe U.S. National Championship!

Students can qualify for this competition after they earn their Adobe Certified Professional certification in Photoshop or Illustrator, then creating an original design piece. The national competition will be this month in Nashville. During the National Championships, competitors have eight hours to design a project based on a specific prompt.

Francis Tuttle students are on the road to Atlanta this week for the SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference!

Francis Tuttle students earned 33 first places medals in areas like automotive service, cosmetology, carpentry, culinary, cybersecurity and more!

We are cheering them on as they show off their skills and compete at the national level this week 👏

Congratulations to recent Francis Tuttle graduate Simardeep Singh on being named a semifinalist for the U.S. Presidential Scholar in Career and Technical Education!

The prestigious program recognizes graduating seniors for their academic success, leadership, and service to school and community. It was established in 1964 and extended in 2015 to recognize students in career and technical education fields. Each year, up to 20 students are named Presidential Scholars in Career and Technical Education, and the 2026 honorees will be announced this summer.

Our Summer Quest classes still have openings! From engineering to life sciences to digital design techniques, these camps offer a variety of topics, with a hands-on and fun environment. Camps are open to childrens ages 11-14 and are offered at our Rockwell and Danforth campuses, as well as a few off-site classes.

Our Leadership Development Academy will provide new supervisors the skill to properly lead their team, including topics such as communications, personality types when leading, navigating difficult conversations, and more.

We are very excited to announce that Francis Tuttle Criminal Justice instructor Johnnie Loudermilk has been named ACTE Region IV's Teacher of the Year!

Loudermilk has been in education for 25 years and launched the Criminal Justice Program at the Francis Tuttle Reno Campus in 2013. Prior to that, he launched the same program at Metro Tech and taught there for eight years.
“I am very blessed to work with wonderful support staff and administrators that allow me to think outside the box and deliver changing curriculum,” Loudermilk said. “My fellow instructors are always there to help me in any way they can. I have a strong advisory board that is very supportive of the program. And most of all, I’m blessed to have great students enroll in this class every year. They work hard and excel after graduating.”

Loudermilk will now be considered for the ACTE National Teacher of the Year award. It will be announced at the 2026 CareerTech VISION conference Dec. 2-5 in New Orleans, Louisiana, which will also be ACTE’s Centennial Celebration.
