Magis Catholic Teacher Corps is a 2-year graduate program at Creighton for new and aspiring educators We accept certified and new license teacher candidates.

Magis Catholic Teacher Corps (MagisCTC) is a two-year post-graduate service through teaching program at Creighton University. We seek enthusiastic, faith-filled, highly motivated recent college graduates who have a desire to serve Catholic schools, while pursuing advanced training in the field of education, counseling or leadership. Built upon the three pillars of professionalism, spirituality, and community, Magis CTC is a two-year commitment to service in Catholic schools across the Midwest. During these two years, teachers live in community, complete graduate coursework, and act as full service teachers in K-12 classrooms.

Phoenix Pastoral Visit | Part 2

Our Phoenix pastoral visit continued at Matthew Catholic School, the only Catholic dual-language school in Arizona! We are incredibly blessed to have four Magis teachers serving this wonderful community, each bringing their unique gifts and talents to their students every day. What makes these four teachers so special is the way they bring St. Matthew’s mission to life each day: Encounter. Educate. Empower.

They do more than teach lessons. They build relationships, nurture confidence, inspire growth, and remind students that they are known, valued, and loved.

We are so grateful for Sam, Elena, Kiley, and Essi and the incredible work they are doing at St. Matthew Catholic School in the Diocese of Phoenix! Saint Matthew Catholic School Diocese of Phoenix

Mr. Wells – Now in his second year of teaching, Sam has grown tremendously in confidence and has become a pillar of the junior high community. His ability to connect with students, build meaningful relationships, and genuinely care for each of them is second to none!

Ms. Simpson –In her second year of teaching while also serving as a school counseling intern, Elena is making an incredible impact! She cares deeply about both the academic success and emotional well-being of her students. She has been instrumental in breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health and creating a space where students feel valued, safe, and loved.

Ms. Rains – In her first year teaching second and third grade, Kiley has fully embraced the St. Matthew community! Her strong instructional strategies, thoughtful approach, and ability to reach students where they are do not go unnoticed. Her warmth and genuine care shine through in everything she does, and it is clear her students adore and respect her!

Ms. Blazauskas – In her first year teaching kindergarten, Essi is helping form the hearts and minds of some of the youngest learners on campus! Her passion for teaching, commitment to reaching every learner, and welcoming classroom environment are truly special. She has

Phoenix Pastoral Visit – Part 1!

There is something extra special about this group of Magis teachers… they are all teaching at their alma maters! What a beautiful full-circle moment to return to the schools that helped shape them, now making a difference in the lives of their own students!

Ms. Lord | St. John XXIII Catholic School
Ms. Lord is making her mark at her alma mater! Her caring and compassionate approach shines through in everything she does. Through intentional teaching strategies, she is challenging her students to think critically, grow in confidence, and reach their potential.

Mr. Robles | Brophy College Preparatory
Once a Bronco, always a Bronco! Mr. Robles brings a calm, steady presence to his classroom and has built meaningful connections with his students. He challenges them to think deeper, believe in themselves, and strive for more.

Mr. Barton | Brophy College Preparatory
Another former Bronco bringing Jesuit charism to life! Mr. Barton is doing incredible things in his theology classroom, leading by example and helping students not only learn about their faith but find meaningful ways to experience and live it.

From students to teachers. From being formed to forming others. These three are beautiful examples of what it means to come full circle and answer the call to serve.

Sometimes God’s plans have a beautiful way of bringing us full circle.

This week, Magis Director Christine Tax returned to St. Matthew Catholic School in Phoenix for a fall pastoral visit—but this time, in a very different role.

Christine previously served as principal of St. Matthew and helped welcome the school’s first two Magis teachers last year. This year, two additional Magis teachers joined the St. Matthew community.

Now, as Director of the Magis Catholic Teacher Corps, Christine gets to return to a school she loves and walk alongside the teachers she once helped bring there—supporting their growth, celebrating their classrooms, and continuing to strengthen the partnership between St. Matthew and Magis.

It’s a reminder that we don’t always see where God is leading us while we’re in the middle of the journey.

Magis means “more”—choosing the greater good and becoming more fully who God calls us to be.

For Christine, choosing Magis certainly meant choosing more.

More opportunities to form teachers.
More ways to serve students.
More communities to transform.
And more opportunities to see God at work in ways we never could have planned.

Fall Pastoral Visit | Maȟpíya Lúta

Christine’s fall pastoral visit brought her to Pine Ridge, South Dakota, to spend time with Magis teachers Luke and Clara at Maȟpíya Lúta.

It was a gift to see them in their classrooms and witness the relationships they are building with their students and community. Luke is helping students find and strengthen their voices through reading, writing, and storytelling, while Clara is creating a space where students can take risks, express themselves, and discover their gifts through art.

The visit also offered opportunities to experience and learn more about the deep connection between faith, Lakota culture, family, and community.

We are grateful for Luke and Clara’s willingness to listen, learn, serve, and walk alongside the Maȟpíya Lúta community.
