This past week, two undergraduate student teams representing the SMLR Human Resource Management Department participated in the 2026 Penn State HR Case Competition at PepsiCo’s Worldwide Headquarters in Purchase, NY. Our students competed against other student HR teams, totaling 58 participants from different colleges and universities from across the country. The case was complex, requiring students to creatively address the problem of sourcing top talent given the volume of AI-enhanced resumes and skill profiles.

Both Rutgers SMLR teams performed exceptionally well and we are proud to share that the team comprised of Mia Ovadia, Thomas Ramsin, Amy Lee, Andrew Rombach captured second place overall, along with Kaavya Bhatt receiving the Outstanding Undergraduate Presenter award! 🎉
